Straight to the Deep End
When we work on songs, we pull them out live. Many times, the first time the guys in the band hear them is the first time the people in the audience is hearing them. – Troy Seele
That’s how we do it. No safety net, no roadmap—we just go for it. That’s kind of the process for The Why Store. We put ourselves and our personalities into the music, and we let the songs take us wherever they want to go. Some nights, it turns into something magical.
Playing songs live before we ever hit the studio gives us a real feel for how people respond. There’s no producer whispering in our ears or telling us what to tweak. It’s just us, the music, and the crowd. That energy is the funnest thing in the world. The Why Store live music thrives on that connection.
One night in Bloomington, we played a song for the first time—completely unrehearsed—and you could feel the room light up. Fans were moving, singing along to a song they’d never heard before. It was raw, it was loose, but it was real. That’s what The Why Store is all about.
Playing ‘Til Our Fingers Hurt
We don’t play with a setlist. With over 150 songs in our arsenal, we let the night take us where it wants to go. Sometimes we’ll play for two or three hours without even realizing it.
There aren’t a lot of jobs where you can push yourself to the point of exhaustion and still be having the time of your life. We’re blessed to get to do this, and we know it wouldn’t be possible without you—the fans. The Why Store live music experience is built on that relationship.
Whether we’re on a big festival stage or tucked into a small bar somewhere in the Midwest, every night is different. Every crowd brings their own vibe, and we feed off that. That’s what keeps us going, and it’s why you need to experience The Why Store live music for yourself.
